Products Description
A marble writing desk from YoYo Stone is a two-material assembly: a white marble top with grey and violet veining, carried on two solid black woodgrain marble plinths. Plinth slabs are cut across the grain so the banding runs vertically, which is what gives the base its tiger-stripe face against a light top. White blocks are selected for veining spread and reserved in sets, so a run of desks in one order reads as a single quarry lot.
We cut and assemble in Xiamen, and as a China stone factory, we ship factory-customized builds: a White Marble Black Wooden Grain writing table at 250 x 75 x 78cm, a modern marble desk or white marble office table, a dining table, or a hotel writing station. Each order is numbered by room or floor, so a 30-room project arrives as 30 matched desks.

Block and slab selection
White blocks are chosen for veining spread and reserved as sets; plinth slabs come from one block so grain direction and tone match across the base.
Saw and mitre tolerance
Infrared bridge saws hold +/-1mm on face dimensions, and every mitre is dry-set on the bench to align veins before bonding.
Joint and surface reading
Mitre and butt joints close to +/-0.5mm, pits are filled with colour-matched resin, and honed faces are checked under raking light for haze and machine marks.
Grain orientation
All plinths in one order face the same direction, so a run of desks reads identically from the front.

Q:1. How do you keep the white marble veining continuous across a mitred desk edge?
A:Top and edge strips are cut side by side from one slab and dry-set on the bench before the 45-degree mitre is bonded, so the veins line up. You get a bench photo of the joint before crating. If a vein break cannot be hidden, we swap the slab.
Q:2.Will a white marble desktop stain or etch under daily coffee and pen use?
A:Marble is alkaline-sensitive, so wine, citrus and vinegar can dull a honed face. Every top ships sealed; wipe spills within ten minutes and reseal yearly. Honed finish hides etching better than polished. Ask for the sealer data sheet if your client specifies a maintenance regime.
Q:3.The 250cm top is long - how is deflection controlled between the two plinth legs?
A:Plinth spacing is set so no unsupported span exceeds 1200mm on 20mm tops, or 1800mm on 30mm slabs. Beyond that we add a third plinth, a mitred box edge, or a steel spine bonded underneath. Send the span and we confirm before cutting.
Q:4.How is a solid stone desk packed for sea freight, and how much does one weigh?
A:A 2500 x 750mm, 20mm white marble top is about 100kg at 2.7 t/m3, and the crated desk usually runs 250-350kg depending on base section. Top and plinths are crated separately, foam-wrapped, in ISPM-15 timber. We send loading photos and the gross weight per crate for forwarder booking.
Q:5.Can several desks in one hotel order be book-matched, and what does that cost?
A:Yes. Consecutive slabs from one block are book-matched so left and right tops mirror. It costs more because blocks are reserved as a set and adds about a week to the schedule. Send your room plan and we quote mirror pairs.
