Stone countertop maintenance
Daily Cleaning and Basic Maintenance:
1. Wipe with a mild detergent and a soft cloth: Use a neutral pH detergent and a microfiber cloth to clean the surface. Avoid acidic or alkaline detergents to prevent corrosion. Quartz countertops can withstand stronger detergents, but natural stone (marble, granite) requires more caution.
2. Promptly Clean Stains: Grease/Food Residue: Immediately blot with absorbent paper and wipe with a neutral detergent.
3. Colored Matter: Apply a baking soda paste for 10 minutes before gently rubbing. Natural stone should avoid prolonged soaking.

Regular Protective Treatments
1. Sealing (for Natural Stone)
Porous stones like marble and granite require a penetrating sealant every 1-2 years. To test, drip water onto the surface. If it absorbs quickly, reseal.
2. Quartz, as a man-made stone, generally does not require sealing. Polishing Repair Minor scratches can be repaired with a stone-specific polishing compound; deeper damage requires professional polishing.
Common Problems and Solutions
1. Yellowing/Discoloration: This may be caused by rust or detergent residue. Try a stone rust remover.
2. Water Stains/White Spots: This is caused by hard water deposits. Apply a white vinegar solution briefly and rinse thoroughly (acid-resistant stone only).
3. Cracks/Chips: Contact the manufacturer or a professional restorer to fill with epoxy resin.
