Jazz White Marble Island is a fabricated white marble work surface - a 20 or 30mm top built onto a seating island - cut from slabs with a bright white field crossed by silver and grey veining. Calcite-based marble polishes high and machines cleanly into eased, bullnose, or ogee edges, but it is softer than granite and absorbs water at a published 0.14%, so every island leaves sealed and every cutout bridge is steel-rodded. As a china stone factory, we build to your CAD shop drawing: drop or waterfall ends, laminated mitered edges, undermount and drop-in cutouts, faucet holes, and a seating overhang sized to your stools, all factory customized at +/-1mm. Tops are dry-laid and numbered before crating so the veining runs as one face.

Quality Standards
An island is a finished piece, not a slab, so inspection on this line is aimed at the four things that ruin the installation: a seam that does not match, a cutout that does not fit the sink, an overhang that sags, and a top that arrives cracked. All four are settled in the workshop, not on site, and each one is signed off before the crate is closed.

Slab selection and colour grading
Blocks and slabs are graded for a clean white field before cutting. Published quality criteria for Jazz White reject rust spots, red lines, and open cracks, and the flaky, dense veining that runs through this marble decides the usable yield - a heavy flower face is diverted to vanity tops rather than to the island face.

CNC fabrication from your shop drawing
Sink and hob cutouts are programmed from your CAD file rather than hand-cut, so the undermount or drop-in aperture, its radii, and the 1 3/8" faucet holes land where the plumber expects them; edge profiles are run through sequential diamond abrasives, and laminated mitered drops are bonded and clamped to a +/-1mm tolerance.

Resin and back-mesh treatment
Island pieces are dry-laid against each other before any seam is set, with the joint placed on the vein and the set numbered, so a two-piece 108"x44" top reads as one face. Polished faces are checked with a gloss meter against the approved sample at a minimum 90+ reading, then sealed.

Reinforcement, packing and documents
Steel or fiberglass rods are set into the underside across every cutout bridge, and overhangs beyond 300mm are supported by corbels or a steel sub-frame supplied to your drawing. Finished pieces are packed face-to-face with non-abrasive film and EPE foam in a waterproof-lined, fumigated crate, strapped and dimensioned for a forklift, with the numbered set list and dry-lay photographs in the crate.

Open-plan residential kitchens and kitchen islands with seating
The standard build is a 30mm single-piece or two-piece top on a base the client supplies, with a seating overhang sized to the stool spacing and the knee height set by the stool. The engineering that decides whether it works is under the top, not on it: an overhang past 300mm needs corbels or a steel sub-frame, and the joint on a long top needs to sit on the vein with a rod behind it. Specify the island outline, the cutout positions, and the stool spacing together, because the overhang and the seam position compete for the same piece of stone.
Bar counters, show kitchens and reception counters
Commercial front-of-house work surfaces in 30mm with a laminated drop edge, often specified with a lighting reveal or an upstand. Marble behaves differently here than granite: it is acid-sensitive and softer, so a bar top on a working surface needs the sealer renewed on a service cycle, and any high-contact corner should take a bullnose rather than a square edge.
