Product Introduction

daltile quartz slabs

Artificial quartz slabs are manufactured, not quarried: fine quartz sand is bound in polyester resin and consolidated under vacuum into a dense sheet, with the mineral content running near 93% of the mix by weight. Our standing decors include Silver Volakas White, the fine-grain white that has been our best seller in the European market, and other decors are run to a customer's supplied reference. Because the colour comes from a weighed formulation rather than a block face, an artificial quartz stone slab can be re-pressed to the same tone months later, which is what a hotel refit or a repeat kitchen programme actually depends on.

Slabs are produced in 3000x1400mm and 3200x1600mm jumbo formats at 15, 18, 20 and 30mm, and each press batch keeps a retained slab against which the following container is read. YoYo Stone also cuts, edges and drills the same material, so artificial quartz countertops, vanity tops and wall panels leave one factory with sink cutouts, faucet holes and edge profiles worked to a template.

Quality Control & Inspection Standards

Incoming sand, pigment and resin:

Quartz sand is logged lot by lot and sieved for particle size distribution, because a wide particle spread packs loose and traps air. Resin and inorganic pigment are booked by supplier batch number, and the filler-to-binder ratio is written onto a scale sheet, never eyeballed at the hopper.

Press and cure records:

Vacuum level, vibration time and cure temperature are written onto the batch sheet that travels with the slab. This is the record that matters later: a binder that is short of full cure shows up as flat spots in the shine and as fine cracking beside a cutout six months to a year later.

Calibration and flatness:

Thickness is gauged across the sheet rather than at a single point, so two artificial quartz slabs butt together without the fabricator grinding the joint level on site.

Gloss reading and slab identity:

Every polished slab is gauged on a gloss meter and compared with the master held for that batch, and the batch number is stencilled on the reverse. A complaint can therefore be traced to a press run, and a replacement slab pulled from the same formulation.

Products application

Typical Project & Application Scenarios
From inspiration to installation, we want to help create a home that fills you with delight and comfort.
Artificial Quartz Slabs countertop
Contract kitchen programmes
Builder and developer kitchen packs repeat the same decor across hundreds of units, and the argument here is batch locking rather than pattern: the second phase has to match the first eighteen months later.
Artificial Quartz Slabs application
Hotel and hospitality bathrooms
Vanity tops, splashbacks and shower niches in 20mm, cut from one bundle so that grain density reads identically across a floor of identical rooms. A floor of bathrooms shows up a shade difference between two bundles faster than any single kitchen does.

Laboratory, healthcare and pharmacy worktops
Specified for chemical and stain resistance rather than appearance. A low-absorption face wipes clean, takes routine disinfectants without dulling, and does not need the annual sealer that natural marble worktops do.

Restaurant and bar tops
Bar counters, poseur tables and restaurant table tops in 20mm, cut from one bundle so that a refit of a single seating zone does not stand out against the rest of the room.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

How do you keep artificial quartz slabs the same colour from one container to the next?

Every press batch keeps a retained slab, and the next container is read against it under a Delta E of 1.0. We also stencil the batch number on the backside, so a repeat order can be pulled from the same formulation rather than re-matched by eye.

Will a hot pan damage an artificial quartz countertop?

The binder sets the limit rather than the quartz: steady heat at around 150C will flatten the shine and can blister the surface, and a pan taken straight from the ring can shock it. Always stand hot cookware on a mat.

Can artificial quartz slabs be used outdoors on a facade or an open terrace?

No, not on exposed work. The quartz granule itself is UV-stable, but the polyester binder is not: sunlight yellows the face and temperature cycling splits the joints. A covered, drained position is acceptable; an open terrace should be specified in granite or porcelain.

How are artificial quartz slabs loaded, and what breakage allowance should we budget?

Slabs travel upright in A-frame bundles of about 16 at 20mm, and a 20ft is weight-limited before it is volume-limited, so the loading plan ships roughly 95 to 100 slabs. Budget one percent loss on edge damage, and we photograph each bundle closed.
