Product Introduction

Grey crystal quartz stone slab is an engineered stone, not a quarried one: 93% natural quartz sand is blended with 7% polyester resin and pressed under vacuum into a 3200x1600mm or 3000x1400mm slab. The crystal in the trade name is mirror flake, ground fine and dispersed through a grey base, and what separates a sound grey crystal quartz slab from a poor one is whether that flake sits evenly through the slab or collects in bands you only see once the slabs are stood upright on the shop floor. Because the colour is a formulation rather than a geological accident, this quartz slab is held to Delta E 1.0 from one production batch to the next, which is the number a distributor should actually be buying on: a repeat order matches the sealed master sample.

| Thickness | 15mm, 18mm, 20mm, 30mm |
| Thickness Tolerance | +/-1mm as standard; +/-0.5mm on calibrated orders, checked with a caliper across the slab |
| Surface Finishes | Polished, honed. Flamed, bush-hammered, sandblasted and pineapple finishes belong to natural stone and are not applicable to resin-bonded quartz |

| Water Absorption | Under 0.02% |
| Compressive Strength | 220 MPa, 32,000 psi |
| Flexural Strength | 48 MPa average, 7,000 psi |
| Mohs Hardness | 7 |
| Colour Consistency | Delta E below 1.0 from batch to batch, read against the sealed master sample |
| Sink Cutouts | Undermount, drop-in and vessel; minimum 10mm inside corner radius; cut from your sink template |
| Faucet Holes | Single, 4 inch centre-set or 8 inch widespread, cut from your tap template |
| Backsplash | 2 inch, 4 inch, 6 inch or full height |
| Sealing | Not required; the surface is non-porous. No sealer, no re-polishing programme |
| Application | Kitchen countertops and islands, vanity tops and washstands, backsplash and interior wall cladding, reception and desk tops, table tops, window sills, hospital and laboratory worktops |
| Outdoor Use | Interior use. Not suitable for uncovered exteriors: direct UV yellows the resin binder |
| MOQ | One bundle, about 15 slabs. Small trial quantities accepted |

Quality Standards
Quality Control & Inspection Standards
YoYo Stone enforces a rigorous six-stage quality verification protocol for every commercial production run of white marble:
Raw material intake and batching by weight
Quartz sand is checked on particle size distribution and the resin lot is logged with supplier and batch number, because an unsorted sand blend packs badly and leaves microscopic voids. The 93 to 7 ratio is weighed on digital scales, never judged by eye, and the batch sheet follows the slab.
01
Vacuum vibro-compression
Air is drawn out of the mix under vacuum below 10 mbar while high-frequency vibration settles the quartz particles into their densest arrangement. This is the step that decides porosity: water absorption under 0.02% is a result of it, not a claim laid on afterwards.
02
Curing control
Temperature and humidity are monitored through cure, because under-cured resin reads as dull patches on the polished face and shows as hairline cracks around cutouts six to twelve months after installation.
03
Calibration and flatness
Thickness is held with a caliper across the slab rather than at one point, to +/-1mm as standard and +/-0.5mm on calibrated orders, so that seams between two slabs need no grinding to sit level.
04
Gloss reading slab by slab
The polished face is read with a gloss meter against the batch standard. Eyeballing gloss under workshop lighting is how dull slabs leave a factory, so the reading is recorded per slab.
05
Products Application
Typical Project & Application Scenarios

Kitchen countertops and islands
Crystal quartz stone slab at 20mm laid on a substrate with the overhang supported, or 30mm and 20+20mm laminated where the edge is exposed and a 40mm front is wanted. The face is non-porous, so oil, wine and citrus sit on the surface instead of soaking in, and the everyday cleaning regime is a damp cloth rather than a sealer programme.
Vanity tops, washstands and bathroom vanities
20mm tops with undermount, drop-in or vessel basins, drain grooves and faucet holes cut from your templates. A non-porous surface is the practical argument in a bathroom, and it is why hospital and laboratory worktops are specified in the same material. The crystal grey is the workhorse of this range: it hides soap and water spotting that a pure white slab shows up.

Backsplashes, window sills and interior wall cladding
Book-matched pairs of grey crystal quartz where a vein or flake pattern has to run across two panels, in 2 inch, 4 inch, 6 inch or full-height backsplash sections, cut from the same bundle as the countertop so the flake density matches between the two.
Commercial and hospitality fit-out
Hotel bathroom vanities, restaurant and cafe tabletops, reception and desk tops, retail display and fitting, bank counters. The argument at this scale is batch consistency, because a hotel that refits a wing two years later needs the second order to match the first.
