Pink Marble Slab

Cut as book-matched pairs, which means two consecutive slabs off the same block opened like a book so the grey and violet banding mirrors either side of the joint. Where an elevation runs wider than one slab, we work a four-slab A-B-B-A sequence rather than repeating a pair, so the vein reads as one continuous field instead of a pattern. Slab order is fixed on a layout drawing with joint positions marked, every slab carries its sequence number on the edge, and the set is bundled wall by wall so the installer cannot mix elevations. On a polished face, we check the block against the downlight positions first - high gloss under lobby spotlights throws glare along the joint line, and honed is the usual answer for reception walls.

20mm for counters laid on a substrate and for splashbacks, 30mm for islands and any top with an exposed edge. Edges are eased, bullnose, or mitred to a 45-degree drop edge where a thicker front is wanted. Cutouts, tap holes, and undermount sink returns are cut from your sink and hob templates rather than from a scale drawing, because a 2mm discrepancy at a sink return stays visible for the life of the kitchen. Marble etches, so this is the one domestic application where the material choice should be argued rather than assumed: we quote honed and sealed pink marble for low-use counters, a granite or quartz working island beside it, and we say so before you commit the slab.
