A magnolia beige marble slab order is judged as a run, not as a stack of pieces, and the two failures that matter both pass a single-slab inspection: a shade step between two blocks, and a hairline fissure that opens after handling. Four checks cover them.

Block selection and shade band

Blocks are photographed and logged before sawing, and the shade band is stated in writing against the sample you approve. Where an order extends a floor laid earlier, we match to your photograph and say upfront whether the current block group is a close match or a different shade.

Infrared bridge cutting tolerance

Bridge saws hold +/-1mm on tile and cut-to-size dimensions, and +/-0.5mm where a slab joint has to close against another material. Cut-to-size panels are dry-checked against the cutting list before packing, not after arrival.

Gloss, resin and back-mesh

Polished faces are read under high-intensity halogen against a 90+ gloss target, and the face is inspected for micro-fissures at the same pass. Surface resin fills natural fissures and a fibreglass back mesh goes on 16mm and 18mm slabs, so a thin slab cannot flex and crack in transit.

Bundling, foam and loading

Slabs ship in fumigated wooden bundles and crates, faces separated with foam, blocked and steel-banded inside the timber. Photographs of the loaded bundles go out with the shipping documents, and for commercial work we mark each bundle against the elevation it belongs to.

Hotel and commercial lobby floors

The usual specification is book-matched pairs, two consecutive slabs off one block opened like a book so the clouding mirrors either side of the joint. Where an elevation runs wider than one slab we work a four-slab A-B-B-A sequence rather than repeating a pair, and every slab carries its sequence number on the edge so the installer cannot mix elevations.

Vanity tops, splashbacks and counters

20mm for counters laid on a substrate and splashbacks, 30mm for islands and any top with an exposed edge, cut from your sink and hob templates rather than from a scale drawing. Marble etches, so for a working kitchen we would quote a honed and sealed magnolia beige marble beside a quartz or granite island, and say so before you commit the slab.
