How to reinforce Bluestone

Sep 01, 2021

In our understanding of bluestone slab stone, we know more or less that stone is composed of various minerals. From the microstructure of stone, it is composed of many voids and subtle cracks. Some bluestone slabs still fail to meet the qualified requirements after reinforcement, so it is necessary to carry out surface penetration reinforcement on bluestone slabs. That is to let the epoxy resin glue penetrate into the interior of the stone through its own voids and cracks, and then go through the drying treatment. After the treatment, the strength of the bluestone slab stone can be improved.

The materials used for the reinforcement of bluestone slab are not used arbitrarily. The right materials should be selected. For example, when the smooth surface of bluestone slab is penetrated, low viscosity epoxy resin should be selected for penetration treatment. Because the epoxy resin with high permeability with good reinforcement effect and long solidification time is generally selected by manufacturers.
