Guangxi white marble countertop work starts with a decision most buyers do not know they are making, because Hezhou white is not one stone but five vein families cut from the same belt. The white ground carries grey, black, yellow, yellow-grey or rose veining, and the family chosen decides both the look and the price: the black-veined type reads like a Calacatta pattern while remaining a Hezhou stone, and the rose type is the one that shifts most between blocks. The marble is quarried at Hezhou in Guangxi, in what the geological survey reports as the largest white marble resource in South China, with a calcium carbonate content above 99% and a whiteness above 95 degrees and a sulfide-free composition on the works' analysis, which is why the white ground stays white rather than yellowing under a sealer. Cut-to-size work is done at our Xiamen plant for residential and commercial projects: kitchen runs, island tops, vanity tops, bar tops and table tops, in 20mm and 30mm, cut to your cabinet plan and appliance schedule rather than to a catalogue size.

Quality Control & Inspection Standards

Quality on this material is decided in six places, and none of them is a visual judgement made at the end of the line. Green marble is graded on the face a slab was cut from, the thickness it holds across the plate, and the order in which the veins sit across a lot, so what the checks below produce is an audit trail: a yard number on the block card, a gauge reading taken at four points, a photograph of the dry-laid sequence. Those same records answer the provenance question the trade name leaves open, which is why the block card and the loading photograph travel with every crate.

Block intake in the yard

Every Irish green marble block is photographed on arrival and given a yard number, and the face is checked for fissures before it is released to the saw.

Sawing, squaring and thickness

Slabs are cut on the gang saw, squared on the carriage, and gauged for thickness at four points across the face rather than at the centre alone. Uncalibrated faces are released to +/-2mm;

Backing inspection

Where a slab is resined or mesh-backed, coverage is checked for dry patches and lifted mesh and the piece is rejected at the line rather than at the port.

Dry-lay and vein sequencing

Project lots are laid out flat in the order they will be installed, photographed, and numbered on the slab edge as well as on the packing list.

01. Which vein of Guangxi white marble should I choose for a countertop?

It depends on the look and the budget. Grey and black veining hold a defined line and the black type reads like a Calacatta pattern; yellow and rose veining are softer and, on rose, the tone shifts most between bundles, so ask for one reserved lot.

02. Does sealing stop a white marble countertop from etching?

No. A sealer closes the surface against staining, but acid from lemon, wine or vinegar still dissolves calcite and leaves a dull mark you can feel. Honing hides those marks better than polishing, which is why we quote honed for busy kitchens.

03. Can an undermount sink be cut into a marble countertop?

Yes, with reinforcement. Marble flexural strength is only 7 to 15 MPa, so the aperture is radiused at the internal corners, the bearing face is laminated and a steel insert carries the sink. We cut to your template and load-test the assembled top.

04. How much does a white marble countertop weigh, and what support does it need?

A 2400x600x20mm top is about 77 kg, and a 30mm top is about half again. Standard cabinetry carries it, but an island or a long run needs support or a bracket at the mid-span, and we flag the span on the drawing before cutting.

05. How is a Guangxi white marble countertop packed for sea freight?

Tops are packed in a stable wooden bundle with foam facing between each piece, fumigated to ISPM 15, and checked piece by piece. A pre-production sample is approved first and held as the reference, so the shipment can be compared against it on arrival.
