Product Introduction

Calacatta quartz black is an engineered slab, not a quarried block: the body is 93% natural quartz aggregate bound with polymer resin and mineral pigment, pressed under vacuum vibro-compression and cured at controlled temperature, which is why the vein pattern repeats on a fixed rhythm instead of varying block to block. Because there is no quarry behind this product, the supply guarantee is stated plainly - it rests on aggregate lot control, the press schedule and a reserved production run, not on a mine face. A calacatta black quartz order is quoted against a production slot: the buyer's total square meterage is reserved on one press run from one aggregate lot, so Phase 1 and Phase 2 of the same project do not drift in background tone or vein density.

Quality Standards
Acceptance on this line starts from a sealed reference plaque, not from a verbal description of color. Before the first commercial slab is pressed, one polished plaque is cut from the run, signed by both parties, and archived with its batch code, gloss reading and aggregate lot number; every later delivery is judged against that plaque under fixed 5000K lighting. Because a sealed plaque travels with the order file, a dispute about tone or vein intensity is settled by measurement and side-by-side comparison rather than opinion, which is what keeps repeat shipments defensible for buyers who order against a master specification.

01
Cutting tolerance
Slabs and cut-to-size pieces are run on infrared bridge saws and CNC profilers to +/-1 mm dimensional tolerance, with slab thickness held at +/-1 mm. Sink, hob and tap cut-outs are milled to the supplied cutting list template and test-fitted against a dummy blank before the batch is released, not on site.
2
Vein matching
Every multi-slab order is 100% dry-laid before packing. Vein direction is matched across adjacent slabs, book-matched pairs are cut in sequence, and CAD sequence numbers are printed on the slab edge so the installer sets them in the intended order. Crate labels carry the same sequence numbers plus the batch code.
03
Surface inspection
Gloss is read with a gloss meter on every polished batch and held at 95+. Faces are inspected under raking light for pinholing, resin streaks, edge chipping and vein break-out; honed and leather faces are checked for shade uniformity rather than gloss.
04
Packing, fumigation and container bracing
Finished slabs ship on A-frame racks inside ISPM-15 fumigated timber crates with waterproof lining, foam corner blocks, 45° edge protection and steel banding. Racks are blocked and braced against the container walls so the load cannot shift mid-voyage, and the loaded weight is reconciled against the 20 ft heavy-cargo limit before the door is sealed.
Products Application
Typical Project & Application Scenarios
Hospitality kitchens and bar tops
20 mm and 30 mm polished countertops, island runs and back bars cut to the operator's cutting list, with mitred 45° edges on island perimeters.
Multi-unit residential kitchen programs
Repetitive cut lists held on one production run so cabinet lots installed months apart still match at the joint.

Retail and office reception desks
Book-matched vein sets across wide fronts, polished face, mitred returns to keep the vein continuous through the corner.
Healthcare, laboratory and food-service work surfaces
Non-porous honed benchtops, ≤0.03% water absorption, chemically resistant to standard disinfectants and food acids.
FAQ
Everything You Want To Know

01. How do you hold color and vein pattern consistent across a multi-batch order of 5,000 m² or more?
02. Does calacatta black quartz resist oil, wine and everyday kitchen staining without sealing?
03. Can your quartz slabs be used for exterior cladding in freeze-thaw climates?
04. How many 30 mm slabs are loaded into a 20 ft container against the 27 t payload limit?
05. What cutting loss should be allowed when converting slabs into a kitchen or vanity cut list?
Allow 8-12% on straight-run cuts, and 15-20% where vein matching, full-height runs or mitred 45° edges are specified. Send the cut list before ordering and we return a nesting plan with the slab count and the yield actually achievable per slab.
