Product Introduction
Products Description

Tundra Grey Marble tiles are cut from imported Turkish block: a silver-grey carbonate marble with white and brown veining and a clouded, slightly crystalline figure. The stone arrives with open pores and small vugs in the block, so it is vacuum-resined, and the patch count per slab is what separates a first-grade lot from a second, which is the first thing we grade on. Because a tile is judged in the box rather than on the slab, Tundra Grey Marble tiles are calibre-sorted: thickness, side length and shade are grouped per box, and every box label carries its group so a 600x600mm floor goes down without lippage steps or shade bands. Standard modules are 305x305mm at 10mm and 300x600mm at 20mm, with 600x600, 800x800 and 1200x600mm at 18mm and 20mm, and any size can be cut to your list.

Quality Control & Inspection Standards
Block intake and patch grading:
Every Tundra Grey block is photographed and numbered on arrival, and the face is graded on one criterion above all: how much of it has been patched.
Calibration before sorting:
Tundra Grey Marble tiles are calibrated on a line rather than cut and packed: face thickness and side length are gauged piece by piece.

Calibre groups and box labelling:
Thickness, side length and shade are grouped together and each box is labelled with its group. A floor laid from one calibre group reads flat and continuous; a floor laid from mixed boxes reads as a patchwork, and no joint width hides it.
Cut-edge and patch inspection:
The cut arris is where a marble tile fails, because a chipped edge ends up on the visible face after fixing. Every piece is checked for chipping at the saw edge and on the face under raking light, and patched areas are checked for adhesion, since a patch that lifts under the blade leaves a soft edge that will not take a polish.
Products application
Tundra Grey Marble tiles are specified by room rather than by brochure, and every application below is bounded by two facts about the material: it is a carbonate marble, so it belongs indoors and away from standing acid, and a tile is a factory-calibrated module, so the work it suits is the work a setter can lay straight from the box. That is why the list runs from lobby floors, stairs and wet walls, where 600x600mm and 1200x600mm modules do the work, through to countertops, vanity tops and fireplace surrounds, which are cut from slab or from 30mm stock rather than from tile. One entry is deliberately missing: uncovered exterior paving, which is a granite or quartzite specification rather than a marble one.

01
Hotel lobbies and lift halls
Tundra Grey Marble tiles in 600x600mm or 1200x600mm laid in stack bond across a lobby floor, with a honed face specified so that luggage traffic does not show.
02
Commercial building floors and atriums
Office towers, banks and shopping centres, where tile is chosen because the floor can be replaced in patches rather than in full.
03
Kitchen countertops and islands
Perimeter runs, island tops and full-height splash panels in 20mm or 30mm, cut from slab rather than tile, with sink cutouts and faucet holes worked to template.
04
Vanity tops and bathroom walls
Vanity tops, splash aprons and shower wall panels, plus 300x600mm tiles for the wet zone. A honed or brushed face is usual in bathrooms, where a polish would reflect water marks.
FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions
How do you keep shade banding and lippage out of a Tundra Grey marble tile floor?
Tiles are grouped by calibre, thickness and shade, and every box is labelled with its group. The setter opens boxes in group order across the floor rather than at random, and a two millimetre joint absorbs the residual difference. Dry-lay photographs of the actual lot ship with the crate.
Does Tundra Grey tile show the resin patching when it is cut on site?
Patches sit in the open pores of the block, so most fall inside the tile face and stay invisible. A patch crossing a saw line can read slightly softer under the polish. We grade lots on patch count and can supply low-patch material for visible cut edges.
Can Tundra Grey marble tiles be wet-laid, and should they be sealed first?
They can be wet-laid, but cement mortar darkens bare stone along the joint until it dries. Floor lots leave the factory sealed on six faces, and we recommend a low-alkali white adhesive for pale grout lines, with the sealer refreshed after the floor is cleaned down.
How many square metres of Tundra Grey tile fit in a 20ft container?
Tiles load by weight, so it depends on thickness: about 800 square metres at 10mm and about 400 square metres at 20mm on a 22 tonne planning payload. Crates travel on edge, and the loading diagram goes out with the packing list.
